I had pretty much given up any hope of tracking down my birth father.  I hoped that after tracking down my birth mother, Stella, she would tell me who my father was. But, she claimed didn’t know.  I’m not sure if that was true or not.  If she did know, she definitely didn’t want to tell me.  If she really didn’t know, then it sounded like a date rape.  After that meeting in 1993, I thought that was my last chance to find out.

Fast forward to 2018.  DNA testing has become available to the masses.  In May of that year, I saw a Groupon for a big discount on 23andMe.  So I thought I’d give it a go.  The results came back about 3 weeks later.  To my surprise, it showed I had a half-brother in Hebron, Ohio by the name of Jack Voll.  It also showed we shared the same father—Edward Voll.  Unfortunately, he had died in 2013.  Argh!
