One summer when we were in Las Vegas, we decided to hike up White Mountain, a little over 14,000 feet. To get to it you took the highway between Vegas and Reno. At about the halfway point, there was a road that went due west. White Mountain was just over the border into California. At that intersection, in the middle of nowhere in the desert, was Cottontail Ranch. Cottontail Ranch was a legal, licensed brothel in Nevada that opened in October 1967. Located near the intersection of U.S. Route 95 and State Route 266 known as Lida Junction, in Esmeralda County, Nevada. It was also known as the Cottontail Ranch Club. It is no longer in business.
