Lance Neeper and Nancy Peck are faculty members in the teacher education department at Keene State College located in New Hampshire. Lance teaches at the undergraduate and graduate level with a focus on special education; he also serves as co-chair of the Education department and coordinates the graduate program in special education. Nancy teaches courses in early childhood development at the undergraduate level and coordinates the early childhood program. Nancy and Lance have co-taught for many semesters and collaborate on research in the areas of teacher education, assistive technology, and inclusive practices.
This session will provide an overview of co-teaching at the higher education level. Presenters will discuss co-teaching basics, lessons learned from practice, and insights into the student and faculty experience. Recommendations for developing and sustaining a co-teaching partnership, and the potential benefits of co-teaching for both students and instructors will be shared.
