Flying over Fremont Street

Bob Hails recently retired as the Executive Director of the eCampus at Northeastern State University.  He has over 40+ years in distance education.  He’s built DE programs from the ground up and significantly grown existing DE programs.  In years past, he started the Southern Educational Technology Conference at the University of Arkansas.  At Ohio University he organized the first statewide conference on distance education via ITV. While the Distance Education Coordinator in the Office of the Chancellor for Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education he founded in 2008 the Transforming the Teaching & Learning Environment virtual conference.

He has a bachelor’s in video production, and a master’s in counseling—which came in handy when dealing with faculty.  😉

Trivia: He’s been to the Grand Canyon 30 times, and hiked rim-to-rim 8 times.  In 2001, he went mountain climbing in Argentina.  And in 2015, he went hiking in Canyonlands National Park and needed to be rescued.  But he got his first helicopter ride as a result.
