Kimberly Harding, PhD is a professor of science at Colorado Mountain College.  She created the Ascend and Transcend program to transform the engagement and understanding of students with their own learning process.  The Ascend and Transcend program has helped instructors and students feel more connected and centered within the processes of teaching and learning.

In this interactive session, we will employ the Ascend and Transcend program, which follows the Arc of Transcendence (Choice, Presence, Awareness, Ascendance, and Transcendence), to transform the classroom experience.  We will engage with this material from the perspective of student involvement, as well as application of these ideas for faculty in our roles as teachers.  The Ascend and Transcend program can be applied to any course, including online instruction. We will model various ways of employing this program, so participants may feel confident in how this program may be utilized in their own classes.  In addition, information for a workbook of this material will be provided, so all can feel support for implementing the program after this session.
