This session will focus on various ways that distance students can be managed when they are working with a preceptor, at a distance. Content will include ways to promote critical thinking, evaluation of the distance practicum student, and how to deal with challenging student situations.

Dr. Heyen is a faculty member at the University of Missouri-Columbia in the nursing department. She teaches across a variety of programs and levels and has extensive experience in managing distance education students.
