Play is a biological process embedded deep in what it means to be human, specifically in its function to help us learn. During this session we leverage the powerful learning power of play as we discover how to design, develop, and deploy escape rooms for online learning.
Jenille “Jeni” Lopez – Jeni Lopez is an Instructional Design Consultant at FIU Online and a Graduate Student at the University of Central Florida, with over 7 years of experience working in learning design and support in Higher Ed. She is an advocate for life-long learning and strongly encourages others to seek knowledge and novelty from even the most unexpected places. As an avid reader, listener of podcasts, game player, and overall lover of all things creative, she’s passionate about game-based learning, psychology, equitable education, and challenging current standards of education.
Maikel Right – Maikel Right is the Associate Director of Instructional Learning Technology at FIU Online where he manages a team of Instructional Designers that partner with faculty to create, develop, and maintain high-quality and truly unique learning experiences. He serves on the University’s Academic Integrity and Student Conduct, Scholarship, and Curriculum committees as well as a faculty fellow with FIU Honors College teaching online, hybrid, and face-to-face.
