We used institutional data and surveys of students and faculty to assess the needs of our online students. Based on our results, we implemented specific improvements to online student resources, and developed a plan to follow up and gauge their impact.

Dr. Shauna Reilly is the Director of the Institute for Student Research and Creative Activity and Regents Professor of Political Science at Northern Kentucky University. She is a prolific scholar and recently completed a book on high-impact practices and student success at NKU. Currently, Dr. Reilly teaches online courses in the political science department and American Politics in the AP program.

Dr. Stephanie Songer is the Associate Director of Online and Professional Education at Northern Kentucky University. Her primary responsibilities include accelerated online programs, micro-credentials, and non-credit professional development opportunities. She is also NKU’s Quality Matters Coordinator, Course Review Manager, and workshop facilitator.
