In the early stages of the Pandemic (2020), the Clark University master’s program scheduled to send Clark faculty to Poland had to instantaneously (as did most institutions) be taught virtually.  It was a difficult transition for the students and for faculty skilled in teaching internationally for multiple reasons.  These reasons became more evident when the program was again delivered remotely in 2021.  This session describes the lessons learned in both years focusing on the challenges of teaching remotely to multinational, multilingual, multiethnic students.

Leslie P. Hitch, MBA, Ed.D. has extensive experience teaching leadership and organizational change internationally both in person and virtually. As retired faculty at Northeastern University in Boston, she remains active as a program reviewer for NECHE and as a consultant and conference speaker.

Siu Ming Luie, Ph.D., is the Associate Dean of Faculty at Clark University School of Professional Studies.  Prior to joining Clark, Siu Ming worked in different academic and student affairs leadership roles at Northeastern University College of Professional Studies and Boston College.  Siu Ming also teaches online at the master’s and doctoral levels.
