This presentation will provide the participants with an overview of the history and philosophy of field trips, an understanding of extended realities and immersive technologies within classroom settings, and an in-depth discussion of how these technologies can begin to provide students with the learning experiences of traditional field trips. In addition, this presentation will contain the experiences of working with students to understand inclusion and universal design and its place within XR, the artifacts that student-teacher candidates created, and the process of incorporating the development of XR spaces as a part of learning and assessment within educational programs.
