These days, animated GIFs are a language of the internet. They’re memes, they’re interactive, and they’re a lot of fun. Animated gifs are different than videos; they tend to be short and silent – more like flipbooks (e.g. https://imgur.com/tfnB9zm). Reaction gifs are incredibly common among all social media platforms and have increasingly found their way into our classrooms to express levity and emphasis.

If you’re searching for your favorite gif to share with your students, then stop and consider creating your own instead. It’s easy, it’s fun, and your students will absolutely love seeing your fantastic, looped reactions to their contributions.

In this session, we will explore the Techsmith Camtasia tool as we create a series of reaction gifs. This session will be fast-paced and engaging. Make this year the year when you gif yourself.

Participants of the session will:

  • Discover how to create effective gifs.
  • Explore applications for using gifs to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Review examples of gifs in an online learning environment
